The former Governor shares his delight about around eight million kids enjoying themselves getting after-school programs, homework assistance, also participating in arts programs, music programs, physical fitness programs, and more. However, he expresses a sense of disappointment.
“There are 25 million kids that want to enroll in after-school programs, but we don’t have the funding for it.” Describing it as a dilemma, he shares how lack of funds has limited his noble effort.
Speaking further, he said that the scheme has been very helpful to encourage children to stay in school, educate themselves, and do what they love to do- play games, learn arts, and paint. Besides, it ensures children stay off the streets.
