Arnold Schwarzenegger, aka the Austrian Oak, became a household name when he won seven Mr. Olympia titles. As a dominant bodybuilder, politician, and actor, Schwarzenegger is also a model parent as per his children.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and his ex-wife Maria Shriver have four children. Their eldest child is Katherine, then Christina, Patrick and Christopher. Katherine and Christina opened up about how their parents played an important role in forming their bond as siblings.

Katherine and Christina revealed how they grew close

In Maria Shriver’s newsletter, Katherine once talked about the bond between her and Christina on the occasion of sisters’ day. She said that her parents ensured that she and Christina had their own interests and friends while growing up.

Katherine said, “When we were little, we did most everything together. We went to the same camps, activities, dressed the same etc.”. She said in later years, she and Christina developed separate interests. Christina explored her creativity and curiosity in dancing, whereas Katherine was inclined towards horse riding.

Christina claimed that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver never took sides when she and Katherine disagreed. She says that being in a school different from her, Katherine changed her life. Christina recommends all parents with daughters who are close in age do the same.

Christina said, “They also constantly reminded us that we would be best friends when we were older and to always be grateful to have a sister that close in age.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger ensured that his family was close-knit

Katherine and Christina also opened up about family dinners that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria used to host weekly. Earlier the family dinners consisted only of the Schwarzeneggers, but later, the kids started inviting their friends over. This helped them in staying and growing up close to each other.
