Bodybuilding legend Arnold Schwarzenegger began 2023 with a determination of spreading positivity. In order to expand better lifestyle ideas among his followers, he began with a newsletter, or what he likes to call “the positive corner of the internet” as a medium to spread his knowledge effectively. In the latest edition of his newsletter The Pump Daily, Schwarzenegger criticized the nutritional supplement companies that sell their products, while misleading fitness enthusiasts with their fictional stories.

Fitness has been the obsession after the COVID-19 pandemic. Supplement companies have outsmarted the customers in that they sell their products intelligently even to the customer who might not need them. With so many companies out there, we are spoilt for choice. However, The Austrian Oak talks about one such supplement which will change the course of your fitness. Here’s what he shared.

Turning a blind eye could land one in a health crisis situation. Supplement companies advertise and use strategic marketing tactics to tempt and lure customers in. Giving the whole matter an Arnold twist, Schwarzenegger wrote, “Not to mention, supplement companies are notorious for creating better fiction than James Cameron.” However, once in a while, a supplement comes which truly affects lives to yield significant results.

The seven-time Mr. Olympia discloses collagen as the winner of them all. But why? Explore further.

Collagen is the new multi-tasker everyone would love

The Austrian advocated collagen to have several benefits for our body, both internal and external. According to Healthline, type-1 collagen constitutes 90% of our body’s collagen. And as we have a greater ratio of type-1 collagen, type-2 collagen can be supplemented by outsourcing for better results.

While counting the benefits of collagen, Schwarzenegger mentioned, collagen “can improve skin moisture, elasticity, and hydration, as well as reduce wrinkles. But the biggest benefit might be how collagen helps reduce pain and strengthen your tendons and ligaments.”

The only twist to the otherwise perfect product is that the effects will only show as one has the patience. According to Arnold, “The studies found that benefits took about 12 to 24 weeks to kick in.” Moreover, he also mentioned the recommended dose, which is “about 5 to 10 grams of type-II collagen” according to the research.
