Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone need no formal introduction. Being contemporaries, they were not just doing movies that were released during the same time but also gave each other tough competition. New to the industry, they both tried hard to establish themselves as Hollywood’s favorite action star.

Apart from giving Hollywood some of the biggest blockbusters, they gave the fans the famous ‘Schwarzenegger–Stallone rivalry.’ They were more than just competitors. The two indulged in one-upmanship and subterfuge that ran for more than twenty years. Such was the competition that, in an attempt to beat the other, they would often end up making a choice they would eventually regret.

Arnold tricked Sly into doing a movie that he now regrets

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Stallone shared how he felt when a movie did not work the expected way on the opening weekend. It was when he bought up the subject of his box-office disaster movie “Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot.” The movie, according to him, was supposed to be like the award-winning film ‘Throw Momma From the Train.’

As the casting for the movie was in talks, Sly heard that Arnold was being approached for the film. Thus, determined not to leave him any space, he took up the role. Though he initially thought, “I’m going to beat him to it,” seeing how poorly the film performed, he soon realized he got tricked.
