Sports have been the mode of harmony in the world several times. World tournaments and leagues are proof of how sports bring people from different beliefs and cultures together. A similar thought was raised in the mind of the bodybuilding veteran, Cherzeley ‘Chezzy’ Zyster, when he was admitted to a hospital for a couple of months in 2021. Zyster, who resides in Mitchells Plain, grew an idea in his mind to bring togetherness in society with the help of the children.
Cherzeley Zyster organized a post-Valentine’s Day event last weekend. Notably, he wanted to discard the negativity from society and bring back harmony.

The seed was sowed when Chezzy was hospitalized because of arthritis in 2021. There he got the time to think about the straying society. As reported by Daily Voice, Chezzy said, “I was in hospital for months with arthritis and all I could think of was the community and how it used to be. The togetherness, the fun everyone used to have with all the competitive sports, but now all Mitchells Plain is known for is the negative stigma.”

He continued, “I came to realise that we can take that negative energy and turn it into something positive through sports, so what better way to fuel the kids.” Henceforth, last weekend, a bodybuilding competition for the kids was organized. Chezzy took the help of Carmelia’s Bodybuilding Club, residents, and local government officials to host this wonderful event for society.
