Body transformations are more than ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures. Behind a fit and healthy persona, there’s always an inspiring story. And, something analogous happened with an Idaho-based woman, Shantel Chiola. The fitness enthusiast from Burly, Idaho met with a horrible car accident in 2011, which left her with a broken neck. Things went further downhill when Chiola’s vertebral artery got wedged between two discs of her spine because of the injury. As a result, she suffered a stroke while traveling on a plane and almost lost motion on the left side of her body.
However, being bedridden for months together, led to an immense weight gain, and by 2016, the Idaho native had put on 311 pounds. The weight gain not only rendered her with an inactive lifestyle but also with lost confidence. Therefore, to get her credence back, she embarked on a journey toward a robust physique.
From 311lbs to 154 lbs: Chiola’s amazing transformation story told

In 2018, Chiola appeared in an interview with Bodybuilding.com, where she profoundly chatted about her inspiration to lose weight and adopt a healthy lifestyle. She revealed that after giving birth to her son in 2014, she “reached an all-time high”, which made her conscious of her looks in photographs. Chiola stated, “I was either too worn out to participate, or too ashamed to be seen”.
In 2015, she finally decided to lose weight and achieve a sturdier physique. In order to do so, she started following a healthier diet and workout regime. “I have spent 4-5 days a week in the gym, religiously”, added Chiola.
The Burly woman further mentioned, “I’ve changed my life, I’ve changed my habits, and most importantly, I’ve put everything I’ve got into reaching my goals”. Nevertheless, by 2018, Shantel Chiola dropped 157 pounds and achieved a fit physique with 154 lbs. Now, she is inspiring everyone with her journey through her social media.

Following her physical transformation and improved self-confidence, Chiola created an Instagram handle to inspire more people struggling with sedentary lifestyles. Interestingly, she labeled her social media account as ‘shrinkin_shantel’. Moreover, her Instagram handle brims with workouts, dietary regimens, and videos that implicate a healthy lifestyle.
