One cannot help but exclaim when remembering the magnificent, Ronnie Coleman, the eight-time Mr. Olympia. He redefined the standard physique to compete for the most sought-after title. Sporting a gigantic body, Coleman became a milestone for the aspiring bodybuilders. While some tried to build a massive body like the ‘Big Ron’, few ventured to experiment with his dietary habits.

Curious to understand the secret sauce of Ronnie’s humungous body and strength, in 2020, a YouTuber, Aseel Soueid, took on a challenge to practice his extreme eating routine. Although consuming 5000 calories, was not as described by Ronnie’s popular catchphrase, ‘nothin’ but a peanut,’ the YouTuber attempted it. Also, he shared some insights into the diet especially the baked potato, and what makes Ronnie unbelievable.

Ronnie Coleman stunned the YouTuber with his diet

The YouTuber is known to take up extreme diets celebrities followed and try them for a day. It was Ronnie‘s diet day. The day began with a protein-rich breakfast of egg white omelet, cheesy grits, and black coffee. He was skeptical about it and before he could even start, he said he was already afraid. He wondered, “Who in the world starts off their day with two cups of grits?”

Little did Aseel realize that he had many more surprises to come. Before hitting the gym, he tried a banana and a whey protein for a pre-workout meal. Post-workout, he had the same but added two spoonsful of peanut butter to the shake for more protein. He had four such heavy meals and was, “Feeling pretty stuffed.”

At meal 5 were two more chicken breasts, with a large baked potato. “I have no idea how Ronnie Coleman can eat this much,” he stated in utter disbelief. Amazed by the heaviness of the diet especially potatoes, he said “These potatoes get me every time for these die challenges, it’s always the baked potato that’s my biggest downfall… This is absolute torture right now.

Does eating like Ronnie going to make one look like him?

Aseel was seized with wonder after every meal. At the end of three meals, he said, “This diet is no joke.” While he still had another protein-full meal with another baked potato left before the challenge was over, he said, “None of this tastes good whatsoever right now,” stating how full he was.

Also, he shared some key understandings from this experiment. Ronnie ate a lot of chicken. Moreover, his diet consisted of very less vegetables. At the end of the day, he said it was no joke. “It honestly was definitely one of the hardest challenges that I have ever done.”
