More often, bodybuilders focus on their size. The more the muscles, the greater the chances are to win. However, bodybuilding is much more than that. In terms of pure symmetry and proportion, there is a person who is one of the greatest. Enter Frank Zane. Despite his brilliance, Arnold Schwarzenegger found it hard to accept the defeat.

Zane recalled how the contest turned salty for Arnold. After winning the 1968 Mr. America and Mr. Universe titles, Arnold still didn’t believe he had the body to win the event and delivered an iconic response to downplay Zane’s victory. But, Zane never backed down as he spoke about what he saw in Arnold and how easy it was to beat him.

Zane’s interesting take on Arnold Schwarzenegger

After the bodybuilding contest, the duo went back and forth. Zane never thought Arnold to be the guy to challenge him in the event. “Arnold wasn’t ready to win, yet. He was just a big smooth guy without a tan. I didn’t see him as competition in that show,” mentioned Zane.

As we all know about Arnold’s confidence in his skillset, he said, “I just got beat by a chicken with 17-inch arms’.” During that competition, Zane was five inches shorter and about 50 pounds lighter than Arnold. However, in terms of symmetry and proportion, he is unmatched. “Arnold’s comments fuelled me, but you couldn’t stay mad at him. He’s such a diplomat,” mentioned Zane, who believed he was a diplomat.
