Mr. Olympia 2020 was the last time Phil Heath competed on stage. After losing the title to Shawn Rhoden in 2018, the seven-time Mr. Olympia made his return. Despite placing third, the former Mr. Olympia didn’t step on the bodybuilding again. However, Heath has continued to work out and has kept his physique in a near-competition-ready state. While looking for new and more effective ways to recover from his grueling workout regimen, Heath came across clod plunges. However, he was initially nervous.
Earlier, one of the most successful Mr. Olympia winners uploaded a video to Instagram and explained how he put aside his fears. Heath revealed that the cold plunge became part of his new morning routine. He also informed his followers about all the benefits he felt after regularly taking the plunge.

“My new morning routine is getting into this 39 degree cold plunge,” Phil Heath wrote in the caption of his video. The former Mr. Olympia revealed that he had been taking cold showers for the last two years. However, he didn’t see any significant results. However, the bodybuilding icon discovered cold plunges and tried them. “I can’t lie, I was a little nervous about getting into this thing,” wrote Heath.
The bodybuilder also explained why he was nervous initially. “I knew all my aches and pains would expose themselves, but D**** it truly feels amazing!” admitted Heath. He said someone thinking of taking clod plunges needs to focus on their breathing. After about two minutes, the cold and aches subside, and “you start to feel incredible.” Heath wrote in the caption.
