59-year-old bodybuilder Rich Gaspari earned a name for his dragon-slaying physique in the 1980s and 90s. Ever since his retirement in 1996, Gaspari has actively devoted himself to discovering effective workout sessions. Recently, the three-time Mr.Olympia runner-up shared a great way to exercise his trap. Gaspari shared a video of him exercising his trapezius on Instagram.
Rich Gaspari earned second place in Mr.Olympia in 1986, 1987, and 1988 and was the first athlete to exhibit striations on the gluteal muscles. Currently, he’s a sports commentator and takes keen attention to drawing comparisons between old and modern bodybuilders. Nevertheless, he keeps sharing unconventional fitness advice with his followers. Let’s take a look at his latest workout tip.
Rich Gaspari’s way to hit traps really deep

Trapezius or traps are muscles located at the neck base, covering across the shoulders, and extending to the middle of the back. Usually, dumbbells or barbell shrugs are considered a prominent way to exercise the trap muscles. However, in his recent video on Instagram, Gaspari used a cage bar to exercise his trapezius. The retired bodybuilder pushed his limits by performing the workout with three plates on each side of the cage bar.
He also added a caption with the video stating, “Always loved shrugs to hit my traps. Here I’m using a cage bar to hit my traps directly and doing a drop set three time to really hit them deep. Give it a try!” This was enough for his fans to lead their way to the comments section as it made sens. Many approved the idea commenting,

In one of his latest videos on Instagram, 59-year-old Rich Gaspari rocked a leg workout. However, he ensured how to not hit any knee issues while performing it.

He worked out on a front squat machine performing 20 parallel reps. With seven plates on each side, Gaspari impressed his followers. After the workout, he gave a sound advice, “Doing the work contracting at the top and feeling each rep.”
