Ronnie Coleman, the man with a behemothic physique, redefined the standards of body size to contest for the ultimate title, Mr. Olympia. The former bodybuilding legend carried his massiveness with grace and created an unmatchable place in the history of the sport. He is genetically blessed with the potential to nurture his bodybuilding passion. However, he faced some troubles due to his size.

After doing different jobs to meet his financial needs, Coleman joined the Arlington police department. It was during the same, he began his bodybuilding career. The world knows of the eight consecutive Mr. Olympia titles he won. He recently discussed in an interview some situations in finding the right uniform as a result of his enormous figure.

Ronnie Coleman could find a vest only after two failed attempts

The interviewer exclaimed about Ronnie’s huge size. He said he had seen his videos of some close shots when the cameras were closer and stated, “you were super big guy back then.” Big Ron replied, “Everything was tailor-made.”

To give an example, he shared about his struggle to find the right-sized vest. He said, “It was hard to get this stuff made too.” Also, Coleman said he went to two or three companies to make his vest because “the first one didn’t do good the second one didn’t do good.” Finally, he got it in his third attempt.

Coleman ate a protein-rich diet with very less vegetables. The 5000-calorie diet would consist of 65% protein, 20-25% carbs, and 5-10% fat. Since protein is essential to build protein, he laid huge emphasis on consuming a lot of protein. Also, he is known for drinking protein powder shakes and the number of scoops he uses.

Nobody would dare mess with Ronnie

Notably, the eight-time Mr. Olympia started as a police and his journey in bodybuilding at the same time. The interviewer said that he sees a lot of videos of people getting pulled over and they talk back to the police officer. In connection with this, he stated, “I don’t think a lot of people talk back to you.” Ronnie replied, “but nobody ever talked back to me.”

Moreover, he said he went to work every day with the attitude of thinking somebody would talk back to him. He said, “I wish …would…” and laughed. But “nobody would talk back.” “Nobody!” he reiterated.

Coleman joined the police force in March 1989 and began bodybuilding in December. He was 215 lb then. He did his first show in Texas and won first place. Eventually, he went on the national stage. He got qualified for Mr. Olympia in 1992. However, he clinched his first title in 1998 and the rest is history. Ronnie’s passion and determination earned him the title, of ‘The King.’
