The former bodybuilding champion and star actor is a person of clear vision and puts one hundred percent conviction into it. Arnold’s father was a police officer. That brought discipline to the household. Perhaps that’s where it all began. Undoubtedly, clarity on goals, unwavering determination, and most importantly, the courage to say ‘No’ were some of the qualities that set him apart.

In a throwback interview as a budding actor, Arnold shared his vision in the field of movies while explaining why he turned down an attractive offer of $200,000 for a tire commercial.

Having made an indelible mark in the field of bodybuilding, the seven-time Mr. Olympia set out to continue his winning streak, but this time in Hollywood. In the 1979 interview, Arnold was asked why he didn’t take the tire commercial. “Because I have money,” he replied.

Significantly, a man of vision, Arnold explained that it “didn’t fit into my career.” Explaining further, he stated his goal was to make millions of dollars through his films, make big motion pictures once a year, and eventually get into producing films. “In all those things, I mean the tire commercial doesn’t fit into it,” Schwarzenegger added.

Furthermore, he added he had so many other businesses going from writing books to a mail-order business, real estate, and produce competitions. Moreover, he said it is always nice to make money but “you don’t have to take everything for it.“Good explanation,” the interviewer replied.

A wise quote says, “A vision is not just a picture of what could be; it is an appeal to our better selves, a call to become something more.” The interviewer quoted Arnold’s goal was to get to the stage where he could do absolutely everything that he wanted to do “which is creating the kind of name and an image so that whatever I do I will be alright.”

The interviewer asked how close he was to that goal. Arnold replied, “I’m pretty close but I’m still far away.” Also, he explained the challenges he was facing due to changing careers, which meant building fame in that field all over again.
