In the age of junk food and limited outdoor activities, bodybuilding is not an easy profession. Obesity has become an issue all around the world. But taking care of one’s body and mind is very important. A few years ago, amateur bodybuilder Hannah Schofield also struggled with body issues and maintaining a healthy diet.

In 2018, it was during her trip to London when Schofield realized that it was time for her to take care of her body. Know how Schofield changed her life and discovered her interest in bodybuilding.

How Hannah Schofield started her bodybuilding journey

A then-student, Schofield, used to eat lots of sweets, chocolates, and takeaway foods. She never cared about calories and how much junk she consumed during that time.

However, in 2018, when Schofield was on a trip to London, she felt that her body weight was troubling her. After just a day of walking around the city, she felt extremely worn out and tired. The moment of realization hit her when she took a tube in London.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Schofield revealed, “The worst was yet to come, as I noticed how much room I was taking up on the London Underground.” Schofield could not fit in a single seat on the tube and felt very embarrassed. Later, the now-bodybuilder went to buy trousers for herself and realized she had to buy 20-size pants. “I never thought I’d reach a size 20 and it was enough to make me want to change my life,” said Schofield.

Soon, Schofield started a drastic diet and exercise routine for some time. She later started working out with her coach, Jenna Beckworth, who helped her maintain a toned body and helped build her bodybuilding career. Once the Schofield who weighed 252 lbs, lost more than half her weight in just four years, to then weigh around 126 lbs.

Schofield, who once did not care about the calorie count in her food, said, “When you’re training for a bodybuilding competition, you don’t really see food as anything other than a means to an end.” The bodybuilder is now in a very fit shape and maintains her body well.

What is Schofield doing at present?

Schofield now follows a strict diet routine and works out five times a week. She has also competed in many bodybuilding tournaments. Currently, Schofield is working as a disaster management officer and an emergency planning officer.

However, at the same time, Schofield is also working towards building her bodybuilding career. Schofield also has a YouTube channel where she shares various workout routines and meal preps with her followers.
