Hence, when a young weightlifter from Bulgaria claimed a new world record, Wheeler could not stop himself from sharing his achievement. The iconic bodybuilder, who is an adamant follower of the sport, seemed to be impressed by and displayed his excitement via Instagram.

Young athlete surprises Flex Wheeler

Another world record has been shattered at the ongoing 2022 World Weightlifting Championships. 18-year-old teen Karlos Nasar of Bulgaria has stunned the world after he set a new clean-and-jerk world record in the 89kg category. Nasar’s 220kg [485 lbs] lift has become the new world record in both junior and senior divisions.

However, Nasar’s impressive performance has not just impressed the weightlifting world, but also a bodybuilding legend. In his recent Instagram story, former bodybuilder Flex Wheeler shared a clip of Nasar’s record-breaking lift. An excited Wheeler captioned the story and wrote, “18 years old!!! NEW WORLD RECORD! 220kg C&J!!!”

During his career, the legendary bodybuilder also underwent intense workouts and weight training. He knows the effort and hard work required to nail such a heavy lift and hence, appreciated the young weightlifter’s incredible achievement. Although Wheeler and Nasar have never met before, the bodybuilding star acknowledged the weightlifter’s efforts.

Even after undergoing more than 40 surgeries, the “Sultan of Symmetry” continues to spread positivity with his fans and followers. Long back, Wheeler underwent a right leg amputation, due to his lifelong kidney disease.

Recently, he was admitted to the hospital for another surgery. But, even while going through tough times, Wheeler made sure to inspire his fans and shared a motivational message for everyone via an Instagram post. His fellow bodybuilders and fans wished the legend a speedy recovery and admired Wheeler for his courage and positive attitude.
