Besides winning and losing, just being at the Olympics is a great feeling. And 2022 Beijing Paralympic debutant, Adam Kingsmill, is experiencing the same right now. The 22-year-old Canadian will be the ice hockey goaltender for Team Canada at the Paralympics and his performance over the past few years makes him one to look out for.

Adam started playing ice hockey in 2016 with team Cariboo Cougars and soon his raw talent was recognized and awarded by the coaches at Hockey Canada’s NextGen Prospects Camp. He made his international debut as the Canadian para ice hockey player at the World Para Ice Hockey Championships held in Ostrava, Czech Republic.
A cute surprise for Adam Kingsmill at the Beijing Winter Paralympics 2022
Just before the start of Beijing Winter Paralympics 2022, Adam Kingsmill got a cute surprise from the volunteers at the Games. A day prior to the commencement of the Paralympics, it was Adam’s 22nd birthday, and he received a cute hockey puck birthday cake from the volunteers on his special day.

He was all dressed up in his hockey kit while they brought him the cake and greeted him with a happy birthday song.
Adam Kingsmill’s Paralympic Journey
Adam was born and brought up in Smithers, B.C. and his Paralympic journey is one of a kind. At 2, he suffered an accident in which he lost his right leg. However, with grit and determination, the champion still won himself a spot in Canada’s Paralympic ice hockey team, overcoming all the challenges he faced on the journey.
He has gained quite a name for himself through his performances in World Para Ice Hockey Championships and now, he will look to repeat the same in the Beijing Winter Paralympics 2022 as well. Apart from ice hockey, the Canadian goalie is also fond of softball, motocross, stand-up hockey, and golf.

At the Beijing Winter Paralympics, the first match of para ice hockey will be between the two top North American rivals, USA and Canada. While Team USA is currently the World No. 1 para ice hockey team, Canada is just beside them in second place in the ranking.
