As the stage is set for the Beijing Winter Paralympics 2022, the USA sends a strong contingent to China. After a successful Winter Olympics, the Paralympics team will have the chance to display their talents now. 67 athletes are heading to Beijing to take part in the Paralympics. The USA finished fourth with 25 medals, as well as, bid goodbye to a lot of their legendary athletes. Team USA for the Beijing Winter Paralympics
There are 39 returning Paralympians along with stars who appear for their sixth time. Oksana Masters and Aaron Pike appear for the sixth time while Laurie Stephens is appearing for her fifth Games. USOPC CEO Sarah Hirshland spoke about being proud of watching different talented athletes representing their countries, to help them achieve their dreams of winning a gold medal. She prompted the fans of a great showing in Beijing while focusing on the athletes appearing for the events.
“We have an incredible group of 67 talented athletes ready to make their mark at the Paralympic Winter Games. Thanks to countless years of preparation, unparalleled coverage and support from our partners, Team USA is ready showcase to the world that the 2022 Games will be an event they don?t want to miss,” said Hirshland.
With different athletes appearing for the sports event, the Paralympics is home to some of the greatest athletes in the world. Thus, there are some incredible stars appearing in Beijing.
The legendary Oksana Masters
Arguably the greatest Paralympian of all time, Oksana Masters is an inspiration to all. She appeared for both the Summer and Winter Paralympics competitions. Being both a rower and a nordic skier, Masters has ten Paralympic medals to her name. Thus, heading to her sixth Paralympics, Masters looks to top the medal charts, yet again.
