What do the champions dream of when they fall asleep? For someone who has achieved enough, Yuzuru Hanyu still dreams about a lot of things. It’s true that his dreams were shattered in the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022, but he is someone who would not give up so soon. His love for figure skating is unparalleled, and he still wishes to be the best at his sport.

The champion skater failed at winning the third consecutive Olympic gold in Beijing. Furthermore, he couldn’t achieve his dream of performing a perfect quad axel, but he has not given up on his dream of landing the 4A. Perhaps we may see a perfect 4A jump from the Japanese in the future.

There are a lot of speculations about the Beijing Olympics being the last Olympic Games for the Japanese skater and whether he’ll continue figure skating in the future. However, the two-time Olympic champion has not yet made any future decision on the subject.

He said, “So the question was whether these Olympic Games will be my last Olympic Games or not. I think my answer is I don’t know. I came to the Olympic games and I felt once again that the Olympics are so special.”

On the question of his participation in the next Olympics, he said, “The next Olympic Games, I am not even sure where they’re going to be held, to be honest with you. So I’m a little bit confused. But as Yuzuru Hanyu, I am going to cherish figure skating which Yuzuru Hanyu loves and continue to strive to master the sport.”

Although his love for figure skating is unquestionable, can he wait for four more years to accomplish his dream?
