Decorated Olympian and gymnast Simone Biles just announced her engagement. Biles had been dating Houston Texans safety, Jonathan Owens, since August 2020.

Both star athletes had gotten together owing to the worldwide lockdown and have never looked back since. Just today, Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens were extremely expressive of their love for each other.

After all, it was Valentine’s Day. Now, Simone just took to Instagram to announce that the two would be tying the knot!

Simone Biles set to tie the know with boyfriend Jonathan Owens

Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens spent Valentine’s Day together. In fact, Owens even made a heartwarming and romantic Instagram post to express his love for Biles.

Similarly, Biles, too, expressed her love for Owens through her Instagram story. Furthermore, she eagerly showed off her gifts from Owens online.

Turns out, a heart-shaped bouquet of flowers was far from the biggest surprise Owens had in store for Simone. Biles took to Instagram to share that Owens had popped the question, and spoiler alert- she said yes!

Biles shared a string of photographs on Instagram of the moment Owens proposed to her. She called it “the easiest yes”. The pictures depicted the moment Owens went down on one knee to propose, and Simone certainly looked happily shocked.

Later, they also celebrated their engagement with a drink, and Biles showed off her diamond ring as well.

Clearly, the 24-year-old is excited to begin this new chapter of life with her boyfriend, and she expressed as much. “I can’t wait to spend forever and ever with you,” Biles wrote in her post.

“You’re everything I dreamed of and more! Let’s get married FIANCE,” Simone was forthcoming about her happiness about her engagement.

Simone supported Mikaela Shiffrin after Winter Olympics setbacks

Two-time Olympic gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin has not been doing well at the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022. She crashed in the women’s slalom and giant slalom events, thus being unable to medal in either event.

Shiffrin, who felt hounded by media criticisms and slander, could not cope with the pressure of the negative discussions about her. Thus, she also decided to forego any media interviews for the rest of the Olympics.

In solidarity with the 22-year-old, Simone Biles took to Twitter to support her. She tweeted three white hearts and tagged Mikaela. After all, Simone is fairly acquainted with scrutiny and wanted to let Shiffrin know she is not alone.
