Olympian’s family celebrates gold medal victory at Beijing Winter Olympics

With the covid-19 pandemic restricting travel, family members of Olympians have been forced to enjoy the games from their homes. Hence, Weidemann’s family did the same. Recording their reactions to the victory, a video saw the Weidemann family jumping with joy, ecstatic over Isabelle’s gold medal win. A little perplexed, but excited nonetheless, even her dogs got in on the act.

Coming from disappointing finishes at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, Weidemann finally achieved her lifelong dream. Posting the now-viral video, Team Canada’s official Twitter page loved their reaction and thanked them for their support.

Family reactions are fun to watch

This is not the first time that there have been family reactions that took over the Internet. When Caeleb Dressel earned gold medals at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 for swimming, his whole family cheered him on and appeared in the post-race interview, as an emotional Dressel could not contain his tears.

Likewise, Shaun White appeared for his last Winter Olympics but failed to win a final Olympic medal. In his post-race interview, he spoke with his family over a video call and broke down with the support and love he received from them.
