Crashes at the Beijing Winter Olympics continue to happen at an alarming rate. Now, the US skier, Nina O’Brien, had a frightening crash during the giant slalom competitions. She is specialized in the giant slalom and slalom competitions and represents Team USA in this year’s Olympics. Hence, the paramedics rushed to the spot to help her get up.

It has been a disappointing day for the US Winter Olympics athletes in today’s events. This incident just adds to the already existing problems for Team USA. O’Brien is responding to the medics after the crash.
Nina O’Brien suffers a terrifying crash
With Mikaela Shiffrin out in the first round of the giant slalom competition, it was time for O’Brien to step up. Moreover, fans had high hopes for this skier. But she lost her footing after passing the gate while landing both feet apart in a precarious position. The extent of the injury is unknown. Medics talked about her being unresponsive for ten minutes as she then regained consciousness. However, it looks like she suffered a broken leg injury.

The US snowboarding team gave an update on how she was alert and responded to the questions raised by the paramedics. They rushed her to a nearby local health facility, as scans would reveal the extent of the damage.
Thus, the injuries keep coming at the Beijing Winter Olympics. Earlier in the morning, Mikaela Shiffrin messed up her giant slalom routine as she slipped on one of the curves. Incidents keep happening for athletes in China as it is a cause of concern.
Japanese snowboarder crashes at Winter Olympics

Back in the slopestyle snowboarding training session, Japan’s Rina Yoshika suffered a spinal injury after misjudging a landing in the competition. She was rushed to the hospital in China and sent back to Japan for further treatment. Although scans will reveal the extent of the injury to Nina, the images look shocking.
