People often only look at the achievements and glamor that the Olympics promise, but the amount of hard work and dedication it takes to be at that level is inexplicable. Yuzuru Hanyu has proved that when you perform at Olympics, the only thing that matters is your dream. Maybe he failed at that dream, but he gave his best to achieve it.

The two time Olympic champion has taken no decision on what he will do next. “If you ask me whether these were my last Games, I don’t know,” Hanyu said during an interview. The Japanese skater came fourth in the men’s figure skating short programme in Beijing Olympics and lost a chance to win his third consecutive Olympic gold.
Yuzuru Hanyu’s health update
It appears that the two-time Olympic champion was injured during the finals of the men’s figure skating short program. Nonetheless, he still attempted the most difficult jump in figure skating. He may have failed, but he didn’t hold back because of pain or injury.

During a press conference, Yuzuru said, “It even hurts to walk at the moment, I am receiving a lot of treatment and a lot of support and really want to share all my gratitude towards that support, thankyou.”?
He is still recovering from the injury that cost him his third consecutive Olympic gold. There is also doubt about whether he’ll be able to perform in Sunday’s gala as he has once again sprained his right ankle.
Yuzuru still dreams to land the quad axel
The Japanese figure skater is the only person who has ever come closest to landing a perfect quad axel. While his best attempt was in the 2021 Japanese National Championship, Beijing Olympics was his second-best effort at the jump.
