The Beijing Winter Olympics 2022 has been like a terrible dream for the US skier Mikaela Shiffrin. Although the two-time Olympic gold medalist is giving her absolute best in every event that she is taking part in, she is yet to win a medal in Beijing.
In the downhill event today, with 1.34.36 minute time on the clock, Mikaela was 18th. She rarely skis downhill, but since her main events were a disaster, she tried something new.

After the game, she said, ?I think it was pretty solid. It?s really hard to expect much from results right now with downhill because I haven?t done a lot of it.?

Out of the 4 races that Mikaela has been part of, she crashed in two, and in the remaining two she was quite far from the podium.
However, these setbacks were not enough to crush the free-spirited champion that she truly is.

After the downhill event, she told the reporters that she will take part in the team event as well.

Can Mikaela still win a medal in Beijing Winter Olympics?
Well, the American skier still has two more races to go, so of course, there are still chances that she could bring home a medal. She’ll be competing in women’s freestyle and a team event on the 17th.

Keeping aside her early setbacks, the two-time Olympic champion is going forward with a positive mindset. Her performance at the downhill event today was commendable. Despite the disappointments, she has displayed a great will to win, and that reflects her passion for the sport.
