There are no words that can describe the heroism of Ukrainian athletes who took part in the Beijing Paralympics 2022. They came to the Paralympics as a team whose arrival was considered as a ‘miracle‘ by their Paralympic committee president. However, as of the Beijing Paralympics closing ceremony today. They were the team who’ll be remembered forever as the greatest team in the history of the Paralympics.

One can only imagine what it’s like to perform at the Paralympics with so much going in your mind. But every single member of team Ukraine made it look so easy. While for other teams it was just a competition, for them, it was the only thing they had as their pride.

Team Ukraine finished second in the Beijing Paralympics 2022

Amidst the dreadful situation back home, this second position in the Paralympics is greater than any victory. Team Ukraine won overall 29 medals at the Beijing Paralympics including 11 gold, 10 silver, and 8 bronze medals. In fact, it was their best performance so far in the history of the Paralympics.

 

Coming to the Paralympics under the worst of circumstances was not easy for team Ukraine. However, they kept going against every obstacle that came their way. As they arrived at Beijing, the Ukrainian Paralympic Committee (UPC) president said,??Not coming here would have been taking the easy option. Our presence at the Paralympics?is a sign that Ukraine is and will remain a country.?

China at the top of the Beijing Paralympic medals tally

The home team secured the overall victory in the Beijing Paralympics 2022. They won a total of 61 medals, including 18 gold, 20 silver, and 23 bronze medals. While team Canada was third with a total of 29 medals. It has been an amazing couple of days with some phenomenal performances from athletes across the globe.

Beijing Paralympics 2022 was as wonderful as Beijing Winter Olympics. Apart from the ongoing world tension that led to the ban of Russian and Belarusian athletes, everything else was immaculate.

With so many incredible moments, it was a Paralympic to be remembered forever.
