Repeating their success, Team USA has defended its title and still stands at the top of the 3×3 Basketball tournament in Pan American games. They went sneaker ahead with Chile to give them a run for their game. The jumps and strides of Team USA dominated the court. And led to a glorious victorious end to the 3×3 Basketball campaign.

Team USA defeated Chile by 21-15 in an exhilarating final. The path to the gold was clean and cleared with consecutive undefeated victories. A perfect winning streak. Both men’s and women’s basketball teams finished the tournament with a winning streak leading to the gold.

Taking the lead towards victory

The ex-NBA player played an instrumental role in the golden victory run of Team USA. With around 21 points per game, Team USA was a force in the tournament. Jimmer Fredette was the key figure in ensuring the victory for the team. Jimmer rallied the team as they trailed 11-5. Fredette hit a two-pointer to start a dominating rally. USA Basketball 3×3 tweeted the picture on their X account. It was a picture of Jimmer scoring a point over their Chilean opponent at the final and it said “Mission Accomplished”.

Fredette leveled the score at 12, hitting a two-pointer from the top of the arc. And then, with a two-pointer from the same spot as Fredette, Barry gave the team its first lead. Fredette’s glorious game got Team USA the momentum it needed to dominate the game. And ended the game with a magnificent victory over their Chilean opponents. With Jimmer Fredette shining brighter than ever.

Transition to 3×3 basketball format and Paris Olympics

3×3 has been a big transition for Jimmer. He moved over to the format in 2022 and since then he has set his sights on the Paris Olympics. 3×3 will return to Paris after the debut at the Tokyo 2020. Jimmer has been showing a stellar performance in the format. Upon qualification, he could be the top prospect to represent Team USA. The women’s 3×3 basketball team clinched gold in an undefeated victorious streak too.

There are higher expectations from both the men’s and women’s 3×3 basketball teams. With their dominating gold medal performance at the Pan American games in Santiago, the team’s Olympic hopes have gone higher.
