It’s understandable if Caitlin Clark is running high on Cloud 9 right now, despite missing out on the chance to represent her nation at the Paris Olympics this year. Only a few hours ago, Clark made history by becoming the first rookie in WNBA to achieve the elusive triple-double. For justifiable reasons, the Indiana Fevers are ecstatic about their new teammate, and so are other iconic figures of the country.

Last night, no one expected New York’s five-match winning streak coming to an end, especially at the hands of the Indiana Fever. And yet, with Caitlin riling them up, the Fevers managed to secure an emphatic 83-78 victory, and the nation is going haywire. Before being drafted, Clark was one of the most consistent performers in the collegiate scene, but even the nation’s former celebrity stars weren’t prepared for what she had hidden up her sleeve.

1984 LA Olympics medalist Kathy Johnson Clarke couldn’t keep calm as she witnessed Clark adding yet another staggering feat to her long list of accolades and took to social media to express her joy from last night’s game between the Fever and the New York Liberty. “Such an exciting, fast-paced game! The crowd was electric! Loved every minute!” wrote Kathy in her post on X as she shared the original post by the Indiana team, expressing its joy for Caitlin.

With 19 points scored, 12 rebounds, and 13 assists, Clark enthralled the crowd and her fans with her performance at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse arena. Along with being the first-ever rookie to attain the milestone, Clark is also the star to bring the Fevers this honor for the first time in franchise history. Naturally, her fans are beyond elated by her feat.

In its last three matches, the Indiana team has been handed defeats by its opponents. While such misery would generally cause self-confidence to plummet, Caitlin proved that her iron will isn’t so easy to break as she led her squad to bounce back in a glorious manner. Clark’s latest accolade highlights just how she has retained her composure even after the latest decision by Team USA to put an end to her Olympic dream.

The much-anticipated matchup between the All-Stars vs Team USA is around the corner, and Caitlin has stormed into the former’s roster thanks to her mouth-watering performances on a weekly basis. While many fans are curious to know if her triple-double still makes sense to keep her out of the team that will head to the Paris Olympics, Caitlin seems equally concerned about making sure that her success doesn’t affect her teammates. Even at last night’s game, Clark was observed urging fans to keep quiet for the sake of Aliyah Boston, who was about to take a shot in the fourth quarter. “Like I appreciate it, but just trying to get them to be quiet,” said Clark later in the post-match interview.

I think it just gives you something to work for. It’s a dream, hopefully one day I can be there. I think it’s just a little more motivation,” Caitlin told Olympics.com last month after rumors of her being absent from the national team started doing the rounds across the country. While the USA’s stars set their eyes on defending its title for another year at the quadrennial event, we will have to wait to see if Clark can come to terms with the situation and focus all her efforts on racking in more boasting rights in the coming days.
