Their spectacular match broke the 21-year attendance record with an immense crowd of 55,646 people packed in the stadium. This was the first women’s basketball game that was being played outdoors in a football stadium. They broke the previous record set in 2002 of attendance which was 29,619 people at the national game between Oklahoma and UConn at Alamdome in San Antonio, Texas. Recently, Stephen A. Smith dubbed Caitlin Clark the “Steph Curry of women’s college basketball” as he anticipated the 2023-24 season. After the match, he shared immense admiration for the player.

This outstanding match also had the Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital which overlooks the stadium. The children and their parents from the hospital were waving at the players on the ground and following the greatest tradition of sports, the players also waved at the children straight for a minute. All the net proceeds from the game were donated to the hospital.
