Day 1 was a mixture of victory and disappointment for Team USA. The second match was between the USA and China teams, concluded with an impressive score of 22-20. The major reason for China’s victory was its standout performers Mengjie Wu and Ming Zheng, who contributed 8 points each. Ming Zheng made the last exceptional point in the last few minutes of overtime. This displayed the narrow margins in basketball competitions. Although China had some of the best performers in the game, the USA team was close enough, giving tough competition. Undeterred by the initial setback, Team USA, in their second battle, showcased their unwavering resolve. However, Yaling Huang and Ming Zheng again demonstrated their true potential. Ming Zheng shot 8 points, whereas Yaling Huang scored another 7 points. The player of the match was Ming Zheng, as her two-pointer was a turning point for Team China.
