Desperate for heroes, the New York Yankees have shown a keen interest in many stars in free agency. Adding to the extravagant list of demands, reports state that the Yankees are now interested in Braves’ star, Freddie Freeman.

New York Yankees met Freddie Freeman’s representative

New York Yankees had a heartbreaking exit from the season, losing the Wild Card game to their arch-rivals, Boston Red Sox. Hence, the Yankees and their GM Brian Cashman are going to leave no stone unturned to acquire the players who can sail their way to the World Series in 2022.

As the off-season bidding war for free agents has already begun, the Yankees aim to bag the best ones possible. Hence, Freddie Freeman, who recently helped the Atlanta Braves clinch their historic World Series, is also on their radar.

MLB Network’s Jon Heyman revealed that Yankees have met with Freddie Freeman and other top lefthanded-hitting 1B representatives.

Heyman tweeted, “Yankees met with reps for all top lefthanded-hitting 1B, including Freddie Freeman. Of course, the Braves would seem most likely to retain Freeman, while Rizzo and perhaps trade candidate Olson, among others, may be more realistic for NYY. But it’s worth investigating the great FF.”

Look Back at Freddie Freeman’s 2021 outing

Freddie Freeman has played all his baseball career(2010-to date) exclusively with Atlanta Braves. In 2021, he smashed 31 home runs, and 31 RBI’s.
