After years of non-participation, the Atlanta Braves will finally take the flight to the World Series. One of the oldest baseball teams is going to the World Series after missing out on the opportunity for decades.

The Atlanta Braves outclassed the reigning champions, Los Angeles Dodgers, on Saturday night. And they clinched the National League Championship Series by a 4-2 lead.
Atlanta Braves breaks losing streak
Atlanta Braves have paved their way to their first World Series in the 21st century. The last time Braves appeared in World Series was in 1999. The Braves had clashed with the New York Yankees in the 1999 World Series; however, they were defeated by the Yankees by 4-0.
Entering the 2021 NLCS, Braves faced the 2020 World Series champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Dodgers were the favorites to clinch the NLCS, with their records, and stellar run in 2021. However, the Braves shocked everyone, as they dominated the Dodgers in NLCS. With their commanding performance from the start, the Braves defeated Dodgers in four out of six games. Astonishingly, Braves had clinched the first two games, building the pressure on the Dodgers.

The Braves played nearly flawless baseball when they had to, knocking out Dodgers in the game four by 4-2. Apart from the collective effort of the team, it was the heroics of the well-deserved NLCS MVP, Eddie Rosario, that helped them reach this feat after years.
The only home run smashed in Truist Park on Saturday came from Eddie’s bat. In the fourth innings, when Dodgers tried to make a comeback, Rosario blasted a three-run home to seal the deal.

World Series 2021: Braves vs Houston Astros
After their rewarding performance in NLCS, the Braves would now face Houston Astros in the Fall Classic. Houston Astros had earlier clinched the ALCS, defeating the Boston Red Sox.
