New York Yankees in touch with Correa’s assistant

The 2021 season ended in heartbreak for New York Yankees as they missed out on the postseason, following defeat by the Boston Red Sox in the Wild Card game. Regardless, the Yankees re-hired their manager Aaron Boone, in the hope for redemption in 2022.

Yankees are now aiming to reconstruct their team to sail their boat to the post-season next year. Notably, the team has an interest in signing a contract with Astros’ star, Carlos Correa. According to ESPN’s Baseball Insider, Kiley McDaniel, the Yankees are so determined to get Carlos on board; they are planning to offer him a $300million deal by December.

From his defense to his personality, Carlos can be a great fit for the Yankees in 2022. Interestingly, Carlos was also in New York this weekend, although not celebrating his deal with Yankees, but for the UFC 268 at Madison Square Garden.

However, according to sports analyst Jim Bowden, it’s not just Carlos who Yankees have their eyes on for their defense. Los Angeles Dodgers Corey Seager is also on top of the free agent’s lists. Notably, Yankees are said to be conversing with Corey’s agent, trying to strike a deal.

Why isn’t Houston Astros re-signing Carlos Correa?

Although Houston Astros and Carlos Correa just played the World Series together, their relationship might have taken a sour turn. Correa smashed 26 homers, 34 doubles and recorded 92 RBI’s in 148 games for the Astros this year. After seven years with the Astros and being selected to the All-Star team in 2017 and in 2021, Correa is looking for something long-term.
