Carlos Correa went from idolizing to criticizing Derek Jeter
As the off-season kicked off, one of the top players in the free agency has been Carlos Correa. Moreover, the New York Yankees have shown a lot of interest in the former Houston Astros shortstop, as they aim at building their team for the 2022 season.
However, Carlos got himself into the bad books of the Yankees fans when he commented on their legend, Derek Jeter. Correa made a huge statement attacking the Yankees stars’ five-time gold glove glory. Correa said,” Derek Jeter didn’t deserve any.”
Interestingly, an old video is now surfacing on Twitter, showing Correa’s drastically different views on Jeter in 2014. CBSS Sports HQ producer, Lucas Frankel tweeted the video, leaving fans puzzled.
Correa said, “I idolize Derek Jeter. I always follow him, I always look up to him, because he was a great player plus he was a great person. So, Derek Jeter is the person I always look up to.”

However, while Carlos threw shade at Derek, the latter chose not to backfire.

Derek Jeter doesn’t care about Correa’s thoughts

Currently, the CEO of Miami Marlins, Derek had a classy reply when he was asked about Carlos’ statement on his past glories. Derek Jeter said, ”I heard about that. I didn’t think much about it.”
He further added, “I don’t know how my name was brought up, but it doesn’t even warrant a response. I mean, I could go a lot of different directions but I won’t.”
