Popularly known as “A-Rod”, former baseball player, Alex Rodriguez has made a fortune worth millions. Alex has strengthened his wealth not only through his baseball career, but as a successful entrepreneur as well.

The 46-year-old has marked his place on the list of the 25 highest-paid athletes of all time. Alex has estimated career earnings of $650 million, which is over half a billion.

Secret Behind Alex Rodriguez’s fortune

Former New York Yankees fame, Alex Rodriguez retired in 2016, after a successful 22-year career in Major League Baseball championship. Alex had started his career with Seattle Mariners in 1994 and then switched to Texas Rangers in 2001. In 2004, he was traded to Yankees and retired with them. 

The American professional baseball shortstop and third baseman secured up to $445 million on-field salary and bonuses during his career. In 2000, he signed the largest sports contract in history with Texas Rangers, worth $252 million, over 10 years. After being traded to the New York Yankees, he broke his old contract record with the Rangers. In 2007, Alex signed a $275 million contract with Yankees for 10 years.

Notably, Alex is one of the greatest baseball players of all time, albeit, since the start, he was strategic about his investments and future. Alex co-owns the NBA team, Minnesota Timberwolves with Marc Lore.

Alex also has invested in multiple real-estate projects. His own real-estate brand is A-Rod Corp, through which he has invested in a plethora of companies worth more than $1 billion.

Alex has a fortune worth half a billion with his ex-fiance, celebrity singer Jennifer Lopez. The power couple called it quits in April 2021; although they continue to handle their fortune together. Interestingly, Alex owns over 13,000 units of multifamily real estate.

Alex Rodriguez and his baseball career

During his astonishing baseball career, Alex had a 295 batting average. With his skills, he delivered 696 home runs, over 2,000 RBIs, over 3,000 hits, scored 2,000 runs, and recorded 300 stolen bases, becoming the only baseball player in history to achieve this feat. Alex also has a career record as he smashed 25 grand slams.

Remarkably, he has earned a lot of awards during his career. He is a 14-time All-Star and three-time Most Valuable Player awardee. He also has ten silver sluggers and two gold glove awards on the list of his achievements.
