However, his hopes were shattered as he received a very low percentage of votes. Alex just got 135 of the 394 votes of the baseball writers. Notably, it was just 34.3% of the total votes put in. For being elected to the Hall of Fame, players need to have 75% votes in their favor.

Albeit, it’s not over for him, as Alex will have nine more chances to get himself listed as a Hall of Famer. However, while he has time, this was it for some legendary players.

Roger Clemens also tweeted on the Hall of Fame snub, saying, ”Hey y’all! I figured I’d give y’all a statement since it’s that time of the year again. My family and I put the HOF in the rear view mirror ten years ago. I didn’t play baseball to get into the HOF. I played to make a generational difference in the lives of my family.”
