Expectedly, fans were not going to accept their decision with open arms and took the matters to Twitter. Fans were upset with MLB Network and commissioner Rob Manfred as a petty reason came forward for not extending the contract.
Fans and Players openly criticize MLB Network
59-year-old Ken Rosenthal has been in the sports world for over decades now. Back in 2009, he joined hands with MLB Network as a baseball insider, and since then he has gained a lot of respect from baseball fans for his honesty. However, his fallout with MLB Network happened in 2020, when he criticized commissioner Rob Manfred. However, he was not suspended, but now they have cut ties with him by not extending his contract.
Ken himself announced the news on Twitter saying, ”Can confirm MLB Network has decided not to bring me back. I’m grateful for the more than 12 years I spent there, and my enduring friendships with on-air personalities, producers and staff. I always strove to maintain my journalistic integrity, and my work reflects that.”
Fans who were already furious with MLB for the lockout lost their calm after the firing of Ken Rosenthal. Some fans even encouraged Ken to open up about the secrets of MLB.
This is Complete B.S. from @MLBNetwork . Im Definitely Boycotting you guys going forward. 🤬

MLB can’t handle the truth. And when it comes to baseball, Kenny, you’re the truth.

You’re the best! Honorable, credible, honest & trustworthy. @mlb is wondering why it’s not as popular, well they can look at situations like this and have a better understanding. This is a huge mistake & Rob Manfred looks really bad

@Ken_Rosenthal stands at 5’4 1/2” but still towers over Rob Manfred. Fire one of the premier reporters in baseball because he critiques you? That’s his job. #soft #rentfree #doinglaps

@Ken_Rosenthal has always done a great job. Now that he’s outside the tent, will things get a little rougher for the Commissioner?

Best reporting baseball has ever had. Thank you for everything you’ve ever done for the game Ken, and you did it with more professionalism and prestige than anyone.

It would be epic if Ken would just burn it all down and expose the hypocrisy of the MLB and how it has protected the dodgers And Yankees.
