For baseball fans, perhaps only two things have remained constant in the past couple of months. One is the ongoing owner lockout in MLB and the other is the speculations on how much of a deal Carlos Correa wants for his new contract.

Former Houston Astros star shortstop and currently a free agent, Carlos Correa is probably the most in-form and in-demand player in the league. The 27-year-old superstar free agent has played a total of seven seasons for the Astros. And he has played a vital role in the Astors’ success in all those years.

Probably every baseball fan is aware of Correa’s hitting capability. His bat path and swing plane are a bit different from any other shortstops in the league. Recently, in a video, Correa was seen teaching his bat path and swing to baseball hitting coach John Peabody.

When Peabody asked Correa about his swinging technique and compared it with Chicago Cubs’ Chris Bryant’s style, the Puerto Rican said, “If more about swinging plane, I want to beat through for a long time, and not try to leave the ball.”

Correa, on his comparison with Chris Bryant’s style, said, “I want to beat through zone early in order for me to stay in there and be able to hit the line drive.”

During his seven years at the Astros, Correa had an impeccable career record. The 27-year-old Puerto Rican baseball shortstop made his Major League debut in 2015 and won the American League Rookie of the Year Award. Later in 2017, he helped the Astros to win the World Series and was also named an MLB All-Star. Correa also appeared in the World Baseball Classic and won American League Player of the month for May in 2017.
