Recently, a video is going viral on the internet, in which a fan refuses to give A-Rod’s 3000th hit baseball to the Yankees legend. , 

It’s true that even after years of his retirement, the New York Yankees legend frequently finds himself in the news. But this time it’s not him. Instead, It is his historic baseball that has been doing rounds on social media because of a fan.

It was during the 2015 season when A-Rod smashed his 3000th hit in MLB at the Yankee Stadium against Detroit Tigers. He became only the 29th player ever to achieve this milestone. Interestingly is when one of the spectators in the stadium grabbed the ball in the air and took it.

As per Inside Edition, the man who grabbed the ball has mastered catching the baseballs in live matches. And he has also written a book on how to snag Major League Baseball. Until that grab, he had caught over 8,000 baseballs in live matches. His name is Zack Hample.

Did Zack return the baseball to A-Rod?

When he grabbed the baseball in the stadium, fans wanted him to return it to A-Rod as a courtesy. But Zack was keen to keep the historic ball to himself. 

When asked about whether he will return the ball to A-Rod or not? Zack told Inside Edition that he is not sure about that.

“Anything is possible at this point. There is a chance A-Rod may get this ball back and maybe not. I’m not trying to be a jerk about it. but it’s my ball and I feel, I’ve the right to just think about it and enjoy the moment myself,” said Zack Hample.
