Baseball is one of the most popular American Sports, and with each passing day, MLB is cementing its grasp outside Northern America too. Until now, baseball has seen many great players. Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, and Ted Williams are the few to name who have ruled in MLB during their respective times.

MLB has been in motion for over 100 years and during this long period, it has witnessed many legends ruling the game. And for fans, it is very hard to judge who is better than whom.

However, recently, ESPN decided to release a list of Top-100 Baseball Players of All-Time. They are releasing the list in a phased manner which has created much deserved and expected amongst the fans. Earlier this week, the sports website had released the Top 51-100 players.

On February 2, ESPN released the list of Top 26-50 players. After the release of the new list, fans were disappointed by the grading system. They slammed ESPN for putting Derek Jeter ahead of Albert Pujols. Notably, in the recent rankings, ESPN has put Jeter at 28 while Pujols’ ranking is 30th. And fans seem to disagree with the decision of putting Derek Jeter ahead of Albert Pujols.

We bring to you some of these reactions which propounded after the release of the second phase of the list.

Many fans demanded ESPN to put Pujols in the Top-10 list. While some even said that Jeter should not be even in the Top-75 players.

One of the fans termed Pujols as the greatest right-handed hitter to play after World War II. Considering the career record of Albert Pujols in MLB, he was embarrassed to see Jeter ahead of Pujols.

Like many, one fan was also shocked to see Derek Jeter ahead of Albert Pujols in the ranking. He even said that Jeter is the most overrated shortstop of all time.

Derek Jeter during his 20 years in MLB, played only for the New York Yankees. Jeter made his debut in the 1995 season and bid farewell to the game as a Yankees player in the 2014 season.

Whereas, Albert Pujols also played over 20 seasons in MLB for the St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Angels, and Los Angeles Dodgers. After making his debut for the Cardinals in 2001, Pujols retired as a Dodgers player in the 2021 season.
