Earlier this week, San Diego Studio and Sony Interactive Entertainment had launched MLB The Show 22, which featured Shohei Ohtani as the cover athlete. now, the MVP Edition of MLB The Show 22 has been released, which features ‘Shotime’ in a new avatar.
The edition features the Los Angeles Angels star in an anime-inspired avatar on its cover. At this moment, Ohtani is probably the biggest face in Major League Baseball. Despite being Japanese, Ohtani has created an enormous fan base among the even the American Youth. His massive fan following and the numbers that show for it makes him the undisputed choice for being the cover star.
While growing up in Japan, Ohtani developed immense love for Anime and Manga artworks.

To create this unique anime-based cover of The Show 22, Sony San Diego and PlayStation collaborated with famous Japanese artist Takashi Okazaki to turn Ohtani into an anime character. Before this, Okazaki has worked on some iconic projects like Afro Samurai and Batman Ninja.

Earlier this week on January 31, San Diego Studios unveiled Shohei Ohtani as the cover athlete of the much-awaited MLB The Show 22. To get featured on the cover, he beat the MLB players like Freddie Freeman, Juan Soto, and Carlos Correa.

The MVP Edition of MLB The Show 22 is available for pre-order at the official website of The Show 22. This Baseball game will be available to play from April 5 2022 onwards on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S. Sony San Diego has added one more feature for the users in The Show 22. Now users can play The Show 22 in cross-progression and cross-play. Those fans who will purchase the MVP Edition will also get four-day early access starting on April 1. However, The Show 22 will not be available for Nintendo Switch users.
