From baseball fans to players, the ongoing lockout has been frustrating for everyone. With spring training just two weeks away, the lockout doesn’t seem to end anytime soon. And it is also likely to hamper the league games of the 2022 season.
Considering the current scenario in MLB, it must be tough for baseball players to deal with all the uncertainty. Recently, former MLB star Jered Weaver took a dig at MLB and wished good luck to the active players.

Currently, instead of playing in the ballpark and entertaining the fans, the players are now negotiating the business part of the game. No wonder why the former MLB star Jered Weaver is not happy with the proceedings.
Jered Weaver on MLB lockout
This is the first work stoppage in Major League Baseball in the last 28 years. The last time owners had initiated a lockout was back in 1994, which ended up canceling the 1994 World Series.
The current MLB lockout is also unlikely to end very soon. And if the owners and players do not find a solution, it will not just cost the games this season, but also the crucial time of players.

The former Los Angeles Angels star took to his Twitter to slam the MLB lockout and said he ended his career at a perfect time.

“I ended my career at the perfect time. Baseball is getting ridiculous…” said Jered Weaver.
During his 12 years in MLB, Weaver played for the Angels and San Diego Padres. After making his debut in the 2006 season for the Angels, Weaver retired from MLB in the 2017 season with the Padres.

After a two-month silence between MLB owners and the Players’ Association, there have been a lot of activities in the past week. After agreeing to offer a counterproposal to MLB players, the owners took a u-turn from their commitment. Instead, they requested the players’ association to include a Federal Mediation for any further negotiations. However, the players’ association declined the request to include any mediation, as they do not want to bring any third party to the table.
