Los Angeles Angels star, Shohei Ohtani, is one of the most popular faces in Major League Baseball. Considering his popularity and his all-around skills on the field, any team would want to keep him by their side. But, his current team, LA Angels, will not let that happen so easily.
Notably, Ohtani’s contract with the Angels will expire after the 2024 season, if he doesn’t extend his contract. And that is something which the Angels might not want at any cost. Recently, the former President of Miami Marlins, David P. Samson, also admitted his love for Ohtani.

Earlier in 2021, Shohei Ohtani had a breakthrough year for himself. His performance was enough to show him as the best two-way player in the league right now. With the bat, Ohtani hit 46 homers while he also had 156 strikeouts as a pitcher.
Recently, former Miami Marlins’ president also admitted his love for Ohtani. While traveling on a train, Samson invited MLB fans to ask him some questions about MLB. Notably, extending Ohtani’s contract had to be one of them. But the two other steps might be troubling for some of the Angels fans. Samson replied that first, he would suspend the Angels’ owner, Arte Moreno, and secondly, he would trade the third baseman, Anthony Rendon. Last but not the least, Samson said that he would want to extend Ohtani’s contract.

However, it was just his wish as the Angels’ president. But yet, extending Ohtani’s contract is something that the Angels must do at the earliest. Because after his current contract, expires, he will become a free agent in the 2024 season.
