However, Correa’s controversial statement might endanger this potential deal. Carlos recently made a huge statement against New York Yankees Hall of Famer, and retired star Derek Jeter.
Carlos Correa attacks New York Yankees’ Derek Jeter
Yankees fans are well aware of the heroics and glories of one of the best players of their franchise, Derek Jeter. Jeter is a 14-time All-Star, and 5 times Gold Glove winner. Correa, who recently clinched the Platinum Gold Glove, had his opinions about the past Gold Glove multiple times winner, Derek.
Correa appeared on the podcast, ‘Me Gustan Los Deportes podcast,’ and was brutally honest with his feelings. He said, “Derek Jeter didn’t deserve any of the Golden Gloves he won.”

Everything that has happened in Yankees and Correa’s potential relationship
As the off-season started, the Yankees’ interest in a strong shortstop for 2022 came forward. It was rumored that Yankees were in conversation with Correa’s agent. According to ESPN’s Baseball Insider, Kiley McDaniel, Yankees were also planning to offer a $300 million contract to Correa in December, an offer he couldn’t say no to.

But, now Correa has attacked the Yankees legend, Derek Jeter, who is also the current CEO of Miami Marlins. Do you think New York Yankees will still offer Correa a deal? Or will they shift their focus to another potential shortstop, Corey Seager?
