Just a couple of days ago, Boston Red Sox legend, David Ortiz, got inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. And since then, the baseball fraternity is celebrating Ortiz’s honor. The former baseball hitter himself got emotional when he heard his name from the BBWAA for the honor.

From current players like Marcus Stroman, Karl-Anthony Towns to former players like Barry Bonds, Pedro Martinez, all congratulated the Big Papi for his Hall of Fame induction. However, this year’s Hall of Fame has also sparked controversy after Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens did not get the honor, because of fewer votes received from the Writers’ Association.

While A-Rod made his MLB debut with Seattle Mariners in 1994, before retiring with New York Yankees in 2016, he played 22 seasons in the major league. In his 22 years of MLB career, A-Rod has spent half of his time at the Yankees, 2004-13, and his last season in 2016.

Along with David Ortiz, Barry Bonds, and Roger Clemens, A-Rod was also on this year’s Hall of Fame ballot. But the Yankees icon received only 34.3 percent votes, which was not enough to get his name into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
