The athletic world has some very popular rivalries at present. One of those is between the two iconic female athletes, Sha’Carri Richardson and Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce. Regarded as the two of the fastest female sprinters currently, Shelly-Ann has already won multiple Olympic medals, while Richardson continues to fight for a comeback.

These two arch-rivals will face off at the Kip Keino Classic this week. Richardson will face Pryce after a long time in this new athletic season. While the rivalry between the two always existed, it was Richardson’s comments about the Jamaican athlete that gave this feud a new spark. Therefore, fans are quite excited to watch these two go head to head on the track.

Sha’Carri Richardson to face Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce

Sha’Carri rose to fame after she clocked an impressive timing at the Olympic trials last year. However, she received a ban soon after for failing a drug test, which caused her to miss the Olympics. However, at the Tokyo Olympics, Fraser Pryce proved herself once again and was part of the Jamaican podium trio. If that wasn’t enough, she repeated her electrifying performance at the Prefontaine Classic.

Now, the two female sprinters will face off in the Kip Keino Classic on May 7th, in what promises to be the ultimate showdown. While Pryce has already proved herself more than once, it is Richardson who could possibly take this chance and announce her comeback.

The Kip Keino will be held at the Moi International Sports Stadium, Kasarani, Nairobi on Saturday. This will be one of the many preceding events leading up to the World Athletics Championships in June. Kip Keino Classic is part of the Continental Tour Gold series by World Athletics.

The women’s 100m race will happen at 16:04 hours GMT. Viewers will be able to watch this nail-biting match via the World Athletics website which will cover it live.

Fred Kerley at the Kip-Keino Classic

The 100m women’s event will not be the only highlight of the day at the Kip Keino Classic. Olympic silver medalist Fred Kerley has already arrived in Africa to take part in the event as well.
