The track and field community is gearing up for the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships. This event will actually be the qualifying event for the 2022 World Athletics Outdoor Championships. The USATF Golden Games will happen on April 16th.
The Games will witness a fantastic lineup of the top athletes of the world. From Christian Coleman, Fred Kerley to Elaine Thompson-Herah, these Games will be one to watch. Most of these athletes are Olympic medalists and will face off their rivals in these epic series. Moreover, these games will also act as a qualifying event for the upcoming World Athletics Championships in June.

Olympic medalists to face off in USATF Golden Games
The Golden Games will go down live at 5 pm on Saturday, 16th April. The lineup for this years’ games is epic. Most of the athletes are Olympic medalists and hold superb personal records.

Current World Champion Christian Coleman will be one of the stars to watch at the Games. Along with him, Fred Kerly, Rai Benjamin, and Michael Normal will also be seen. Notably, Coleman was a double medalist at the World Athletics Championships in 2017.
Meanwhile, Fred Kerley himself is an Olympic silver medalist. Post Tokyo, Kerley has worked on setting some impressive personal record timings which really prove how versatile he is.
On the other hand, both Rai Benajmin and Michael Norman run the 400m and they are one of the best athletes in this event. While Norman holds the world’s best time in indoor 4oo meters, Rai Benjamin has a personal best time of 46.17. This makes him the second-fastest man in 400m history!
This event will be consequential for them because these 4 athletes are preparing for the USATF outdoor games in June. Here, the Top 3 will successfully qualify for the world championships in July. While Coleman already has a place, the competition will be tough between the other three competitors.
A lineup to watch out for

Not just these 4 talented athletes, but Gold medalist Elaine Thompson-Herah will also participate in the Golden Games. Thompson is the current 100m Olympic champion.
She will face off champion US athletes, Teahna Daniels?and?Javianne Oliver. Thomspon?will be joined in the race by her compatriot Briana Williams, Trinidad and Tobago?s Michelle Lee-Ahye as well as the USA?s Olympic 200m bronze medallist Gabby Thomas.

Viewers will be able to watch the Golden Games live on the NBC App 5 p.m. ET on Saturday.
