Last night, the 85-year-old laid to rest, as the NFL community now mourns his loss. Notably, tributes poured in from sporting entities across the globe, including former sprinter Michael Johnson, who remembered the legend as well.
Johnson took to Twitter to speak about the famous coach and recognized his efforts and talents on the football field.

The incredible Madden had a Hall of Fame coaching career with the Oakland Raiders in the 1970s. He took them to a Super Bowl victory back in 1976, scripting history. Hence, his commitment and passion for the game cannot go unnoticed, as he also appeared as a color commentator, analyzing different aspects of the game. A well-respected figure in the NFL, tributes continue to pour for the talented coach. Notably, former Olympic Champion Michael Johnson also took to Twitter, remembering the great.

Moreover, his name appears on the famous video game series Madden NFL that sold around 250 million copies around the world; It is the official licensed game of the NFL. Despite not having a playing career due to a knee injury, Madden was a mainstay in NFL because of his success with the Oakland Raiders.

He signed for the Raiders in 1967 as a linebacker coach. After two seasons, he joined the team as their head coach, becoming the youngest coach in NFL history at 32. He led the Raiders to their Super Bowl title after having a 13-1 regular season. They defeated the Minnesota Vikings 32-14, recording a sensational victory.
Soon after, he started his broadcasting career alongside Pat Summerall. The duo had fantastic chemistry as people loved the commentary they produced. However, he retired from broadcasting in 2009.
