Usain Bolt vs Grizzly Bear

While bears are considered bulky and slow, they have the fastest forelegs and can reach speeds up to 35 miles per hour. However, a bear can only go at full speeds when fully fit. After hibernation, the bear loses around 15% to 30% body weight, which hampers their movement. There are other restrictions to its movement. It needs smooth surfaces for it to put those long claws into the ground. Hence, Bolt’s chances are bleak. However, he is the only human to come close.

When talking about Bolt, it is no secret that he is the fastest man alive on Earth. During the 2009 Berlin Championships, he clocked a speed of 27.8 mph. By setting a time of 9.58, he is the current world record holder for the 100-meters race. The speed clocked is ten mph faster than an average person sprinting.

Regardless, he can never outrun a grizzly bear. Even Bolt can only maintain that speed for some meters, but the bears can go at top speed for 2 miles. Indeed, a dangerous competition to attempt.

However, there are some animals that he can outrun!

With the speeds he reaches, there are some animals that he can outrun. Flirting with death, Bolt can outrun a Polar bear or an Asiatic black bear that can only reach speeds up to 25 mph. Likewise, Sloth bears can also be competed against, as their top speeds are recorded at 20 mph.

In addition, Bolt can also outrun the Black Mamba, which is considered as the deadliest snake in the world. Notably, a Mamba clocks a time of 20 mph, being its aggressive self.
