The title race between Manchester City and Liverpool is going down the wire. The Citizens lead the English Premier League with 70 points, but Liverpool is right behind them with 66, and a game in hand. At a point in time, City led the league and looked like the runaway champions. But Liverpool bounced back. Likewise, Luis Diaz’s arrival seems to be the key. After his recent performance against Brighton, he had drawn comparisons to Usain Bolt in terms of performance and sprinting.

Playing in Porto, he arrived amidst much fanfare, but fans never expected him to be so good. Liverpool Echo compared him to the great Usain Bolt and got into a sarcastic comment about his performance.

Diaz compared to legendary Usain Bolt

Blessed with immense pace and dribbling ability, Diaz has scored two goals in five Premier League appearances so far. Thus, the surrounding hype is unreal. He is currently living up to his hype and providing Liverpool a different attacking outlet on the left-wing. The first key takeaway would be his pace. But, the Liverpool Echo talked about it sarcastically and mentioned how he was incredible before he came. They compared him to Usain Bolt, being an ordinary jogger.

It must be an honor for the Colombian to be considered to Bolt. Bolt was known for his sheer pace and is the current world record holder in the 100-meters competition. Thus, Diaz’s goal against Brighton proved why he was brave and showed his electric pace; although he escaped a serious injury.

After a pass from Joel Matip, Diaz bravely put his head on the ball with Brighton goalkeeper Roberto Sanchez coming straight towards him. VAR checked the play, and they did not deem it to be a foul. As Liverpool scored the goal, manager Jurgen Klopp praised him for attempting the header and scoring the goal.

“He did what a striker had to do. I didn?t see it back but it was spectacular enough in the first moment. To get in there with his head it was really brave. A great goal,” said Klopp.

Hence, the talented Colombian is lighting Anfield up with his sensational performances. Being compared to Usain Bolt is another feather on his cap. What a performance from the sensational winger.
