With those legends to look up to, Kentucky track and field sprinter Abby Steiner is one sprinter to watch out for. She is setting some of the most incredible times seen in college history.
In a recent 200-meters competition, she set her personal best in the 200-meters competition with a legal headwind. Coming into the competition, Steiner’s presence on the track knew people could see something special happen. It just did!

Abby Steiner is smashing records
Remarkably, she bettered her 200-meters performance from the Joe May invitational two weeks back to set an even faster time. Back then, she set a time of 22.38 with a 5.6 m/s headwind. But now, she set a time of 22.05 seconds, creating the best school record, as well as, having a personal best. This is the third-fastest time in collegiate history. From the get-go, she heads into the curve with incredible pace. After that, she just flew.

Leaving her competitors in the dust, Steiner finished nearly a second ahead of her competitors. That’s the dominance she showcased. Hence, the athletics fraternity and taking notice of the talented young athlete.
With this, she has secured the fastest time in the NCAA this season. On the other hand, she sprints well too. The 100-meters competition saw her finish with a time of 10.92 seconds. That time makes her the fifth-fastest college runner in its history. Her achievements have helped her to win the USTFCCCA Women’s Athlete of the Week and the Southeastern Conference Women’s Runner of the Week.

All these times are looking impressive for the talented sprinter. With the 2024 Paris Olympics in two years, Steiner’s trajectory looks impressive. Before that, she set a time of 11.10 in the 100-meters. Thus, Steiner is one athlete to watch out for.
