In Tokyo, Felix clinched two medals- a gold medal in the team event and a bronze medal in the 400m women’s individual event. 35-year-old, Allyson has been on the field for quite a while now, as she had competed in her maiden Olympics back in 2004.
However, her journey hasn’t been as smooth as her medal-winning skills. Regardless of the hurdles, Felix reached Tokyo to mark herself as the most decorated American athlete. While Felix couldn’t clinch the gold medal in 400m, her bronze medal is a victory greater than any other medal.

Felix said, “I think any other Olympics, a bronze medal would be almost disappointing to me. But having overcome everything that I did and being an older athlete and just kind of the combination of all those things that I was fighting against, it just made it… I think I was more joyful for that medal?than so many of the other ones. So yeah, I definitely had a different approach and really a different motivation this time around.”
Recap to Allyson’s Tokyo Olympics outing
