Have you ever thought of winning at something by just eating your heart out? And more so if you love hot dogs, you are in for a generous treat. Nathan’s hot dog eating contest is built around the similar idea where both men and women participate.
The women’s contest started way back in 2011 and since then, this eating contest has attained popularity and is considered to be a form of sport now. The event is very near and the 8 times champion Miki Sudo is looking for her 9th title in the game.

Miki Sudo on the Event that is so Close
8 times winner of Nathan’s hot dog eating contest, Miki Sudo recently had an interview where she clearly mentioned her intentions of grabbing the 9th title. Miki maintained her winning streak from 2014 to 2020. However in 2021, she had some personal reasons due to which she didn’t have her 8th title, but she came back strong in 2022 and reclaimed her position.
She is currently ranked 3rd in the major eating league. In the interview with New York Post, she mentioned about her intentions for the upcoming event and also had some things to share about her, not participating in 2021 event.
In her own words Miki said, “I am in my 10th year of the contest, though I missed the event of 2021 as I was 36 weeks pregnant.”
When asked about her record intentions, she replied, “I feel like I am more prepared than ever, really wanna beat that 50 mark. I have already done it at home so it’s not impossible but I guess I gotta pace myself”

Though Miki has a brutal streak of wins in the event, she reached this place by beating the player who had won it.
Sonya Thomas had a Consecutive Three-year Winning Spree before Miki made her Presence Known
Before the entrance of Miki in the competition, the title was held by Sonya Thomas who won the competition in 2011, 2012, and 2013. In the three-year period, her personal best was 45 hot dogs which came in 2012.

With Miki intending on hitting the 50 mark, it’s very likely that she will get her hands on the next title at the eating contest which is set to happen on 4th of July at 1310 Surf Avenue, Brooklyn, New York. Everyone would be keeping an eye on Miki to see if she can retain her title and also if she can break her personal record.
